It has been reported that the relief operation cost of the devastating earthquake of 25 April, 2015 which killed around 9000 people estimated to be 27 billion without the reconstruction process.
The Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has mentioned that it released Rs 21.6 billion to the Ministry of Home Affairs to support the earthquake victims.

Similarly, the Ministry of Home Affairs states that it disbursed Rs 5.58 billion to 21 quake-hit districts earlier this week to provide each household with Rs 10,000 to make arrangements for the winter months.
Likewise the Social Welfare Council (SWC), regulating the activities of the international and national non-governmental organisations, revealed that nearly 80 INGOs claimed that they spent Rs 4.54 billion in 30 districts to support earthquake victims, where there are more than 200 INGOs currently active in the country. Apart from that around 100 NGOs have submitted their financial report amounting to Rs 1.52 billion rupees. The records of the SWC shows that there are around 40,000 NGOs registered with SWC.

The post-disaster need assessment report of the Nepal Government tagged the total loss to be around 500 billion.
