YAN cadets torching the life like doll of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattrai

Kathmandu 18 March, 2012: In desperate attempt to protest against the Baburam’s government decision to release 20 Million to the Maoist lead Lumbini-Sagarmatha Campaign, the CPN-UML affiliated Youth Association Nepal (YAN) has announced step wise protest program from Saturday.  They have threatened the government if the decision is not taken back within 24 hrs a massive protest program will be launched against the government.

The UML-affiliated students have already started their program where yesterday they staged a protest program in front of the Tri Chandra campus and they burnt the life like doll of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattrai.

YAN Chairman Mahesh Basnet, said “The Baburam Lead government has done wrong where they should realize the mistake and take back their decision. In a country like ours where there are more important issues, the government issuing 20 Million to its party cadets is an open form of corruption. In the current situation when the government is not able to relieve the public with the prices of petroleum product, they have no rights to issue the public’s money this way.”

Speaking at Reporters Club, Nepal on Saturday afternoon, prime minister´s political advisor Devendra Poudel said, “The decision was made with the cabinet and the government will not withdraw its decision to provide financial aid to the UCPN (Maoist) Everest expedition team. In democracy every citizen has the right to protest and practice their rights so they are doing it.  The opposition has created an issue out of it and they are trying to create a situation of political chaos and we completely defy that.”
