Located at an altitude from 2100-2500M, Lakuribhanjyang is a spectacular land marvel that resides within 20 KM from valley in the Lalitpur district. Excluded and serrated in its own natural habitat, it’s one of the most popular sites for recreation activities. Perhaps, looking at the rich green bio diversity and vegetation seems as an excellent choice for short camping and trekking. Getting down to the attractions  the scenic views of Mahabharata range joys its arrivals among wide versa of landscape adding bonus to the journey. For trekkers and adventure enthusiast trekking in the spring season is well recommended. During this season one can see the blooming rhododendrons, magnolias, many wild bushy and colorful flowers. The entire Annapurna range, Mt Manaslu along with the Rolwaling and Langtang ranges and even Mount Everest can be seen on a clear day. A hike or trekking will also appeal to the avid bird watcher, About 200 different species of birds as it attracts large variety of birds due to the Shivapuri Watershed Wildlife Reserve. Many endemic and exotic birds can also be seen along the trail from early autumn to late spring.

Most commonly the peculiar view of the valley overwhelms its visitors with exhilaration and temptation of natural and real Nepal where on contrary the yellow embraced fields of mustard and small cribs located in the hills and cliffs gives an essence of vigorous civilization.

Moreover, its spectacular landscape is perfect for adventure sports like hiking, mountain biking, paragliding etc. Though not far from the city it’s a perfect and isolated place for relaxation where one can feel the fresh oxygen.

Jeff Peterson, a tourist said, “Lakuribhanjyang is a beautiful place that lies within a short distance. It can be a starter trek for people who want to get acclimatized with the high trekking routes. It’s not that far from the valley and the trek is also very interesting with the picturesque views and mountains.  The experience is very good in every possible way where you can enjoy the rich Tamang culture. The most amazing thing is you can see Kathmandu valley from an unseen angle that is very spectacular. I highly recommend people to try this place.”

The journey starts from Kathmandu edging its border to the outskirt and then to Sisneri where we touched three districts from Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur. Looking at such green and fresh vegetation, one can just be excited.  The trail is indifferent so much that if not accompanied by a guide, it would be hard to locate the route.

The jungle is deemed with tall pine trees and slippery track of yellow mud which is slippery and highly not recommended in the rainy season. Despite the fact that these jungles at times can be scary and dangerous, so trekking alone is not an option but working your way through the trail with a guide can be interesting and challenging.

Passing by the jungle it gives you the taste of excitement but on the back of your mind the sense of adrenaline keeps you hitting. The panoramic cliff top, exotic view of Kathmandu valley below and the whole mountain range just makes your day.

Moreover, the encroachment of concrete jungle and it limitation seems as a posing threat of modernization but still the valley holds its image with in its practice. Likewise, the roads for hiking passes through a rough terrain where it hits you if you are not well equipped with proper accessories like shoes, trekking bag, water bag walking stick etc so prior hiking one should always see the feasibility of the landscape and the accessories needed.

The route is very traditional with spring and stream readily available but looking at it from the health view it is not considered wise to drink water from wild without any treatment.

Similarly, during the hike you come across villages and societies where the normal lifestyle of the native people is a learning experience. Lamatar, is one of the Tamang community where you can get a taste of the rich culture and tradition. If you have time and interest, you can spend some time looking at their lifestyle and tradition.

The hike nearly lasts around 2 hrs but the exhaustion is overwhelming by the scenic mountains view of in the Mahabharata range. With a picture perfect mode posing for seems perfect shot framed in the canvas of nature. From Lakuribhanjyang one can see the range of mountains like Gauri shankar, Ganesh, langtang etc.

Ironically, Lakuribhanjyang is a great destination of scenic view with a timeless photographic image where one can rejuvenate oneself with the fresh environment.
