Kathmandu April04, 2011: With high controversy and allegation of 20 Million, the Lumbini-Sagarmatha Campaign led by Prakash Dahal left Kathmandu for Lukla today. The expedition was hugely criticized for involvement of the government 20 Million Aid which was later rejected due to the huge public outcry.

The 11-membered Maoist team includes Prakash Dahal, Saral Sahayatri Paudel (PLA brigade commanders ), Yuvaraj Dulal, Shiva Dangi, Maheshwor Phuyal, Madan Chudal, Dinesh Shrestha, Bina Magar, Ishu Bhattarai, Krishna KC and few of the ex-bodyguards of Prachanda. The team was seen very excited and optimistic about their expedition and mission.  The expedition is themed peace, constitution and raising awareness against climate change and protection of Mt Everest.

Bidding good luck and safe journey, Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Lokendra Bista was seen at the spot. Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) was crowded with supporters and well wishers.

Before leaving the TIA, Prakash Dahal, the team leader of the expedition said, “We are highly motivated for this expedition, all out team members are well prepared and we are very excited. Our mission for the expedition is what motivates us and we shall honor the Nepalese tradition.”
