Dr Govinda KC was arrested  with the  apex court order against the complaint launched by , Netra Bandu Paudel,  on contempt of court charge-sheet  after allegedly speaking against  that Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli. During the press conference he accused Parajuli  to be  ‘corrupt’ and was siding with ‘ the mafia’.

Dr KC started  his 14th fast-unto-death, against the apex court verdict of reinstating Shashi Sharma as the dean of Tribhuvan University Institute of Medicine (IOM) who was sacked by the Khil Raj Regmi government  on January 22, 2014, under the pressure of another hunger strike by Dr KC.

A single bench of Justice Dambar Bahadur Shahi directed the Home Ministry to produce Dr KC at the court after Apex Court section officer Netra Bandhu Poudel lodged a contempt of court case against Dr KC.

Spokesperson for the Supreme Court, Narayan Prasad Panthi said that a case has been filed against Dr KC from making contemptuous remarks against the Apex Court and will be presented before the court on Tuesday morning.

Speaking to media, while being arrested, Dr KC announced that he would continue his hunger strike in custody.
